DAVideo was formed in 1998 by video producer, David Grayburn Hale.

David has been producing videos since 1980 and has worked on a freelance basis for many different companies. This was to be the first venture producing videos on his own.

The initial videos were to be about the road passenger transport industry, because that was David's second interest. The first video was going to be Volvo Ailsa B55 - 25 Years in Service & Preservation. Production of this was started in May 1998. However the first productions turned out to be a commission for Dudley Council Housing Department, who were going to demolish four blocks of flats which had been high profile landmarks in the area. Dudley Council came to DAVideo because David had been involved with the videoing of the blowdown of some flats in Sandwell a few years earlier. DAVideo produced two videos which showed the preparations for the demolition, the evacuation of residents, and the blowdown of the flats from six or seven different angles. Other videos have involved model railways, and the latest production, is about Trolleybuses.

The use of a computer for editing these productions provided some headaches, as at the time, computer resources struggled to handle the amount of data that video required. During this process David acquired computer knowledge, enabling him to be able to offer advice, to repair computers, to upgrade computers, and to offer a bespoke computer construction service (see Computer Specialists).

DAVideo are also able to supply and fit any audio-visual equipment. A typical installation would involve an LCD projector mounted in the ceiling wired to a PC, a video or DVD player, a visualiser, and a PA or audio amplifier, and all controlled by a Crestron AV system controller, but whatever you need in audio-visual equipment, DAVideo can supply.
