December 2004
The big news this year, and especially last month, is the centenary of the Midland Red.
Midland Red’s operating company, the Birmingham & Midland Motor Omnibus Company Limited
(BMMO) was formed on 26th November 1904, and most people have chosen to celebrate this
as the centenary.
It has, however, been pointed out that BMMO did not commence operation
until 21st July 1905, and that this should be the correct centenary celebration.

Midland Red themselves had a grand birthday bash to celebrate fifty years,
and they held theirs in November 1954, so DAVideo has decided to make
a celebration of this event to run from 26th November to 21st July 2005.

We were involved in organising Midland Red’s 100th Birthday Party at theBlack Country Living
Museum in Dudley, and have just launched a Special Centenary Version of End of an Era.
